Band Forum~

Dear Band Members,
Firstly i would like to apologise for the many many 'shh' during practices,
also if i had irritated you guys with that.
Many many apologises.
Please forgive me.

Next is what the band have accumulated in the forum,
-To do what sir wants us to do. (e.g: sing)
-To bring a pencil for every band practice.
-To raise our hands if we want to teach our juniors, so as to ask permission from sir.
-To come on time for practices.
-To remain silent immediately once 'band diam' is heard.
-To be serious when we are doing drills. (e.g: No showing of teeth nor laughing)
-To have self-control.
-To listen to all of sir's explanation even if its not for our section.
-To have a sense of urgency.
-To respond as a whole band. (e.g: Yes Sir!, Yes Mdm!)

Next is what the majors have to improve on,
-Shouting of 'band diam'
-Improving the dead atmosphere of the band during drills.
-Buck up with the shouting of commands.

Is there anymore you guys would like us to improve on?
Please give us your opinions kay?
Thankyou
:)

Also, please remember to bring your gifts on sat!
Hope everyone have enjoyed your camp~
:D
Thankyou for all your co-operation during this camp and hope it'll get even better in the future~
:)

Your BM,
Rebecca

About The Band
The band was formed in 1998 and saw her formative years
under the musical direction of Mr. Richard Png
and achieved a bronze medal in SYF 2003.
Mr. Colin Ng took over the band mantle in 2004
and further developed the band into her present symphonic capacity.
The band was awarded a silver medal in 2005
and a bronze medal in 2007
and in 2009, the band attained another silver award
in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Central Judging of Concert Bands.
Woodlands Ring Military Band has since became also very versatile
in serving as Band-in-attendance for many school regimental parades.
We had been honored with an invitation to perform for the
St. John Ambulance Brigade Changing of Colors Parade
which was graced by his Excellency, President S.R. Nathan.
and the band was invited to perform in many
subsequent zone level SJAB parades and private functions.
The band’s concert series “Bravissimo” started since 2006 is a performance
platform managed by students to showcase the entrepreneurship
and develop community spirit of our musicians.
Our current membership stands at sixty and
we aspire to be the cultural ambassador of Woodlands Ring Secondary School,
not just to our local community but also to the rest of the global community.
