Dedicated to my beloved bandmates! :D

DEDICATED TO MY BELOVED BANDSMEN:

"If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you're right.
If you like to win, but you think you can't,
It's almost certain you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you've lost.
For out of the world we find,
Success begins with a person's will.
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are.
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of yourself
Before you can ever win a prize.

Life's battle don't always go to
The stronger or fastest man,
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can!"

Saw the poster in the council room and thought that this could be helpful! :)

To all my beloved bandmates, have faith! Start believing. And you'll be amazed at how strong the power of believing is.

When we think we can, we shall. :D

Sometimes, we gotta 'fight' for what we want. If we don't believe in ourselves, we've already lost half of the battle.

Do I believe that we can get Gold With Honours for SYF next year?

I do.

I believe that when there is a will, there is a way.

Remember the time Sir said about a band whose conductor died two weeks before SYF? The band did it, and now we're going to do it. :)

To my lovely Sec1s, you guys still have a long journey to go. Make friends, have fun (but don't forget about your studies!) and learn! Along the way, your seniors will be there guide and help you – don't be afraid of making mistakes, because we learn from our mistakes.

And trust me, all of you are talented juniors, so don't be afraid to unleash your full potential. I can see all of you becoming a great player (or maybe even better, musician) some day.

To my wonderful Sec2s, you guys are going to be the next batch of leaders training the juniors and leading the band to greater heights and newer possibilities. Work together, learn together and have fun together – And I promise you that band will be a wonderful experience.

Work hard, academically (you'll be choosing your subject combination next year) and in terms of music-making, with the band (♥) and your personal growth (take charge, stay positive and be happy)! And I believe you guys are going to be the strongest batch of Sec3s (prove me right!) going for SYF 2011. :)

Along the way, there may be obstacles and challenges, but don't be afraid to rise against all odds and work together as a band. Remember, unless we ourselves allow it to happen, no one can break us apart.

Because we are a band.

We are one big family, bonded by a common goal and a passion for music.

And (as Sir always say) we are only as strong as our weakest player.

We leave no one behind. :)

To my beloved Sec3s, I want to thank you, every one of you, for walking this journey with the Sec4/5s seniors who have stepped down, our Sec2 juniors and now, our Sec1 juniors. Thank you for the time and effort you've put in for the band (I'm sure your juniors appreciate it!) and congratulations(!), you managed to survive, till now. :)

Isn't it amazing? How fast time can fly? Remember when we were still Sec1s, young and ignorant? Oh my God, I can't believe it. I was a junior then. And now, I'm about to graduate. In 9 - 10 months time.

Yes, I didn't type wrongly, we only have 9 -10 months more with our juniors. Sad, but true. T_T We might have to step down after SYF 2011, so give your verrrrry best, and leave with no regrets. :)

It's amazing how we start off as strangers and end up inseparable. Really, life is weirddd.

To my fantastic majors, Rebecca, Kai Meng and David, thank you for the extra effort you 've put in for the band, we really appreciate it! :)

To Rebecca, don't be afraid to step up and be firm. Never (ever ever ever!) doubt yourself. Since you are chosen to be the band major, you should believe that you have the potential to lead the band well because I believe that you're not chosen for no reason and that YOU CAN. Trust yourself, you can do it! :)

To my awesome clarinet section,

Sec 1s, welcome to the clarinet family! Feel freeee to talk to me / any other seniors if you have any problems. Just so you know, the clarinet section is always there for you. :)

YongYu: Buck up, jia you! Don't be like me (afraid of high and running notes)! -_- Believe in yourself, you have the potential – I can see it. But whether it is maximazed to the fullest or not depends on you. :)

Emily: I can see that you have leadership potential, continue working on it. Other than that, you're good. Keep up the good job! :)

WeiXiong: Please la, beg you, come for band! T_T Okay, I can see you teaching your juniors (after repeated reminders) but anyway, I appreciate your effort At least you tried! Jia you! :)

David: (I know you're great on the clarinet, so I won't comment on that but . . . ) Please buck up for your studies! :P Don't give anyone any reason to take what you like / love (eg. band!) away from you. It's true that we have to fight for what we want, but (pardon my English, I know it's, um, vulgar) fighting for peace is like f___ing for virginity. Get it? I don't mean to sound rude, but it gets my message across. I meant the first part, the second part is just an analogy. :) And I know you're working hard as a major and I appreciate your effort! :)

HuiYun: Thankkkkkk you, my awesomeeeee kickkkkkkkass friend for being there for me when I need you, lending me your listening ears to hear my stupid crap. -.- Thank you for being patient with me – I know I can be stubborn at times. Thank you so much for all that you've done for me. :D

Lastly, I just wanna say that:

I ♥ BAND! :D

I ♥ you guys, every one of you! :D

And that:

BAND ROCKS! \m/ \m/

Cheers!
Awesome Alicia :D

P/S: Let's go and have our "family photo" taken some day! :)
