Dear band members,
Recently, we have been rather restless and our discipline is not up to standard.
The majors had decided to write blog this " home affairs"
so that you can understand where you have gone wrong
especially since we had reminded the band.

During full band,
Note testing,
there have been note testing anytime anywhere in the band room,
also observed that the seniors are doing it not the sec 1s.
By testing notes, it is rather rude to the person conducting in front.
Please ask for permission if you need to try out your part, not playing
as and when you like.
Pockets of conversation,
its understandable that this could not be stop immediately,
however, it can be improve in time with the seniors help.
Raise your hand to ask for permission is you need to guide your junior or ask
you senior something in particular.
Attitude,
for our past few practises when Sir ( Mr Ng) is not around,
the band have not been showing respect to the person conducting
and TO THE MUSIC.
According to the teachers in the staffroom, the band was
horribly out of tune during our NDP reharsals.
And there is no reason why we should sound out of tune,
when the majors had tune everyone twice.
Apparently, it appears we don't bother what we are playing since
Sir is not here.
This attitude simply is just conveying the message
"WE ARE A LOUSY BAND"
Didn't Sir said we are all trained to be leaders? The kittens/cats not the mouse?
Please reflect on your attitude,
every time anyone speak to you guys, our music will
improve tremendously SUDDENLY.
is there really a need for those long speeches?
Do write down what Sir had taught us for the day,
do not forgot our lessons.
Sir is here to help us, teach us NEW things.
He is not a broken record that goes over repeating to us what to do every time,
and even the slightest part of our music.

During drills,
Sloppy drills which are far way back behind our standards.
Both seniors and juniors playing a fool, talking and fidgeting.
Slow responses, not turning sharply.
Band, do you want to see your seniors coming back,
disappointed in you? I m sure the answer is - No.
Instead WE should be better then our seniors, or else how could the band improve?
We do not want to see
WRS SYMPHONIC BAND standards to drop further more, right?
If we continue this attitude in drills, and the cycle continues,
future generations will be the one affected.
WRSSB 2008 batch would have been the one who caused all this.
Everything will snow ball down and get worse.
So please take your drills SERIOUSLY.

Band,
the majors hope you have understood what we have said,
By posting out this post publicly,
we have already admitted that we did not take good control of the band.
We really hope to see the band improve,
Take our words seriously and do reflect on your behaviour and attitude.
We are sure the band could achieve more then what we have now.
So,
PROVE IT! to your family members, Sir, and even our principal!

and the band was invited to perform in many
subsequent zone level SJAB parades and private functions.
The band’s concert series “Bravissimo” started since 2006 is a performance
platform managed by students to showcase the entrepreneurship
and develop community spirit of our musicians.
Our current membership stands at sixty and
we aspire to be the cultural ambassador of Woodlands Ring Secondary School,
not just to our local community but also to the rest of the global community.
